  • Attention all Juniors and Seniors: Are you interested in attending a college tour at the University of West Georgia?  If so, please see Coach Myricks for an application packet.  Seats are limited and the first 45 eligible students will be admitted on this tour.  All applications are due by September 27th.

 

  • For those interested in joining the wrestling team, the annual ice cream social and parent meeting will be held next Tuesday, September 19 at 7 PM in the JHS commons

 

  • Homecoming Powder Puff games will be held on Tuesday, September 26th, beginning at 6:30 pm at Red Devil Hill. Admission for Students $3 and $5 for Adults. Please pick up your t-shirt tomorrow morning before 1st period in the commons.

 

  • Homecoming Gala will be Thursday, September 28th at 6:30 pm at the Indian Springs Amphitheater. Students, Faculty, Staff members, and the community are invited to come out and support the Devils!

 

  • The wrestling team will be having an ice cream social and parent meeting tomorrow at 7 PM in the JHS commons

 

  • After school tutoring will be offered every Tuesday & Wednesday from 3:30-4:30pm.

 

  • HOSA will meet on Wednesday of this week, September 20th until 4:00. Please be prepared to pay dues and order a T-shirt if you'd like. This meeting is important for those that wish to compete this year.

 

  • The ASVAB will be administered on Tuesday, November 7 @ 8:00 am in the Jackson High School cafeteria. As an aptitude test, the ASVAB measures your strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. The ASVAB also provides you with career information for various civilian and military occupations.  If you are interested in taking this test administration, please stop by the guidance office and sign up by October 27, 2017.

 

  • If you are planning to take the SAT or the ACT, please don't forget to sign up for a test waiver in the guidance office.  Jackson High is now a testing site for the ACT.  The ACT will be administered at Jackson High on December 9.

 

  • Anyone interested in Flu shots?  If so you  should pick up a form in the front office before Sept. 29th.  Flu shots will be given at JHS on Oct. 18th.  This is for faculty and students.

 

  • Juniors who wish to take the PSAT should sign up in the counselor's suite.  The PSAT will be given on October 25th.

 

  • There will be a mandatory speech and debate meeting after school today at 6. If you plan to travel with the team then

 

  • JHS word of the week: Embelish- to decorate something by adding special details and features

 

  • Homecoming Announcements:

It's time for Homecoming week, September 25-29!  The theme for homecoming this year is throwback. Seniors will have the 90's, Juniors will have the 80's, Sophomores 70's and the Freshman will have the 60's. The week of Homecoming will include the following dress-up days:

Monday: Decade Day-dress like your throwback years

Tuesday: Wacky Tacky

Wednesday: Twin Day - Be someone's twin, either in school clothes or in character

Thursday:  Dress for success - put your best business face forward (also picture day)

Friday: #RD4L - Red Devil Glo Day- purchase a neon shirt with Red Devil logo beginning Monday for $10.00 or create your own neon Devil look

Lip Sync: 4 minutes max - must be approved by your class advisor - Song from the decade and the video must be turned into Ms. Milam by Wednesday, September 27th by lunchtime.

Video (due Wednesday September 27th to Ms. Milam (media specialist) - incorporate your theme and #RD4L- stay within your assigned decade. Videos will show during lunch on Thursday
